Online Baccarat Sri Lanka
Baccarat is a card game built around two hands, Player and Banker. In the common punto banco format, you choose the outcome to bet on while fixed dealing rules determine the cards. The aim is to finish with a hand total closer to nine, not to reach twenty-one as in blackjack.
This guide explains card values, main wagers, common payouts and the differences between digital and live dealer play. Read the actual table rules before staking money: commission, Tie payouts and special features can differ between versions.

Baccarat card values and hand totals
- Ace: one point.
- Two to nine: face value.
- Ten, jack, queen and king: zero points.
- Hand total: use only the last digit after adding the card values.
For example, a seven and an eight total fifteen, giving a baccarat value of five. A queen and a nine give nine, because the queen contributes zero. A two and a three give five. These calculations apply to the common punto banco format.
Player and Banker name the two hands; they do not mean you must play one side or become the dealer. The selected wager determines which outcome settles your bet.
What happens during a round?
- Select a wager. Choose an available outcome and a stake within the table limits before betting closes.
- Two cards go to each hand. The initial totals are calculated using baccarat values.
- Check for a natural. An initial eight or nine on either hand ends the drawing stage in standard punto banco.
- Apply any third-card rule. If needed, the game follows the prescribed dealing rules.
- Compare final totals. The hand closer to nine wins, or the result is a tie.
You do not make blackjack-style hit or stand decisions in standard punto banco. The drawing procedure is part of the game rules. Other baccarat formats can differ, so identify the version before applying this explanation.
Understanding the third-card rule
When neither hand has a natural, the Player hand normally draws on zero to five and stands on six or seven. The Banker decision depends on its own total and, when Player draws, the value of Player’s third card.
If Player stands, Banker normally draws on zero to five and stands on six or seven. If Player takes a third card, Banker’s drawing table applies: zero to two draws; three draws unless Player’s third card is eight; four draws against a third card of two to seven; five draws against four to seven; and six draws against six or seven. Banker stands on seven.
The interface or dealer applies these rules. You do not need to choose a draw, but reading the displayed rules helps you understand why a hand received another card. Check the exact table for variant rules.
Player, Banker and Tie wagers
A Player wager wins when the Player hand finishes higher. A Banker wager wins when Banker finishes higher. A Tie wager is a separate bet that the final totals will be equal. In standard baccarat, a tie normally returns Player and Banker main wagers rather than making them lose.
Common commission baccarat pays Player wins at 1:1 and Banker wins at 1:1 less a commission, often 5%. On a $10 winning Banker wager with a 5% commission, the profit would be $9.50, with the $10 stake returned separately. Check how the game displays stake and profit.
Tie payouts vary; 8:1 is a common example, not a promise for every table. A larger displayed payout does not mean an outcome is more likely. Always read the paytable, including rounding and commission rules.
No commission and special baccarat variants
No commission does not necessarily mean every Banker win pays the same amount. A version may replace the commission with an exception for a particular result. Evolution’s No Commission Baccarat rules, for example, specify a half-stake payout on a winning Banker total of six.
Other versions can add multipliers, fees or different side bets. Read how those features change the main wager and total cost. A familiar table layout does not establish standard payouts.
Side bets and result charts
Pair and other side bets are separate wagers with their own winning conditions and payouts. Inspect the cost of every selected wager before confirming. A repeat control may carry a side bet into another round even if you intended to repeat only the main stake.
Roads, streak displays and history panels record past outcomes. They do not establish what happens in the next hand. A long sequence of Banker wins does not guarantee either another Banker result or a Player result next.
A staking progression cannot guarantee recovery of losses. Raising the stake after a loss increases the amount at risk and can quickly reach a table or budget limit.
Digital baccarat and live dealer tables
A digital game presents the round through software animation. A live dealer game adds a streamed table presentation and usually a shared betting window. The exact version and rules matter more than the access format when comparing payouts.
In live play, check the betting timer and accepted-bet confirmation alongside the video. Watching a stream does not mean you have placed a wager. If the connection stalls, stop betting and inspect the round history before repeating an action. Read our live dealer guide for more.
Mobile, tablet and browser play
Where supported, baccarat can be accessed through a browser or compatible app. Check that the table rules, total stake, balance and result remain readable. Do not play while an overlay or screen edge hides the amount you are committing.

Baccarat and casino bonuses
Check the promotion’s eligible game list before playing with bonus credit. Baccarat can be excluded or have a lower wagering contribution than slots. If an allowed game contributes 10%, a $10 bet adds $1 towards wagering; that is an example, not a stated rate for the listed offers.
Also read the maximum bet, expiry, cashout and bonus removal rules. A high welcome percentage does not establish that baccarat qualifies. Use the bonuses hub to compare deposit offers, match bonuses, free chips and spin promotions.
Before placing a baccarat wager
- Confirm country and account eligibility and read verification and withdrawal requirements.
- Identify the exact game, commission and paytable.
- Check the minimum, maximum and total stake, including side bets.
- Confirm the account currency; dollar amounts are not Sri Lankan rupees.
- Set time and spending limits before starting.
For other game formats, read blackjack, roulette or Sic Bo. The Sri Lanka casino homepage connects the wider guides and casino offer lists.
Do not borrow or chase losses. If a round or payment is uncertain, check history and contact support before repeating it. Read our responsible gambling information if you need help controlling play.

Baccarat FAQs
What is the aim of baccarat?
In standard punto banco baccarat, Player and Banker are two hand labels. The hand with a final total closer to nine wins. You bet on an outcome rather than choosing how either hand draws its cards.
How are baccarat cards counted?
Aces count as one, cards two through nine use their face value, and tens, jacks, queens and kings count as zero. Only the final digit of the total counts, so seven plus eight gives a hand value of five.
Do I decide whether to draw a third card?
Not in standard punto banco. The dealing rules determine whether each hand receives another card. Read the rules for the exact variation because other baccarat formats can differ.
What happens to Player and Banker bets when the round is a tie?
In standard baccarat they normally push, returning the main wager. A separate Tie bet is settled according to its own payout. Check the actual table rules for exceptions or special variants.
Does no commission baccarat always pay Banker wins at even money?
No. Some versions change the payout for particular winning totals. For example, Evolution’s No Commission Baccarat pays a winning Banker total of six at half the stake. Check the specific game’s paytable.
Can result charts predict the next baccarat hand?
Roads and history panels describe previous results. They do not establish the next hand or guarantee a winning bet. Do not increase stakes to chase a pattern or recover losses.
Can I use a casino welcome bonus on baccarat?
Only if the promotion permits the exact game. Baccarat may be excluded or contribute less towards wagering. Check eligible games, contribution rates, maximum bet and cashout rules before playing with bonus funds.
Can I play baccarat on my phone?
Where the operator and game support your device, browser or app play may be available. Check that the stake, table rules and accepted-bet confirmation are readable before depositing.
